On the “Selling of Prayers”

Today, Carolyn brought to my attention an advertisement that she received in her email from the sham of a ministry, “Bride Ministries,” that the both of us used to be associated with. Although the journey was difficult, our Heavenly Father was gracious and merciful enough to open our eyes and free us from that bondage.

(See: Why We Left Bride Ministries)

But…. it seems they are still advertising their same old witchcraft, and false teachers who are engaging in witchcraft yet claiming to be “Christian,” preying on the weak, the naïve, and the desperate, anger me very much. Even still, I pray that everyone associated with that false and ungodly ministry would be humbled before the Father, and brought to repentance and reconciliation with Him.

Their advertisement reads in part:

Prayer is an art form. Some may say that there is no wrong way to pray. Unfortunately, this is incorrect, and is downright misleading. There are prayers that are effective, and there are prayers that are ineffective. This course is designed to train you in effective prayer.

You will learn how to construct effective prayers to engage specific situations.

Of course, they are charging you a “sale” price (*wink wink*) of $59.95 (a so-called “discount from the “regular price” of $69.95… would anyone like to call my “wink” and raise me an “eye-roll”?) to learn how to “construct” these supposed “effective prayers.”

So along these lines, there are some things that need to be pointed out.

People who believe that prayer is complicated and difficult are misinformed and misled. And those who are selling conferences, books, or so-called “bible studies” or “discipleship courses” to supposedly “teach you” the “correct way to pray” are liars and deceivers. They are violently twisting Scripture out of context for their own purposes, and some of them are blatantly practicing witchcraft. They need to be humbled before God, repent, and be reconciled to the Father.

PRAYERS SHOULD NOT BE FOR SALE. Yet some false and ungodly “prophets and teachers” are preying on the naïveté, fear, and desperation of others, and charging for their false and unbiblical instruction on “how to pray.”

✘ Prayer is also not an “art form.” That is a lie and there is no Scripture that says this.

✓ PRAYER IS COMMUNICATION WITH GOD and is an act of exchanging our will for the will of the Heavenly Father.

☛ See: https://askcarolynandloren.wordpress.com/2017/…/04/bible-study-prayer/

Regardless of what others may tell you (in particular, those charlatans — those false prophets and teachers with their overly-inflated egos — who are selling their “prayer secrets” and “prayer art forms”), here is the truth: PRAYER (communication with God) IS NOT COMPLICATED. What IS HARD is laying down your own ego and your own will and asking that the will of the Father be done instead of your own. But it is not complicated!

Yet, they would complicate it all, and then have the gall to charge you for their false and unbiblical instruction that takes you away from the truth of the Word of God and towards further bondage and destruction.

➤ Yes, there IS a wrong way to pray. But contrary to what those false teachers are trying to sell you on, the wrong way to pray is the way of witchcraft, and it is exactly what they are trying to sell to you! We describe this type of witchcraft throughout our book.

➤ “Effective prayers” are mentioned in this advertisement for teaching “effective prayer.” Here’s the verse in the Word of God that speaks to effective prayers:

James 5:16 (BSB)

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

☛ Seehttp://biblehub.com/text/james/5-16.htm)

It is not the effective prayers that make a person righteous, but it is the prayers of the righteous that are effective!

➤ And look up what “righteous” means!

☛ See: http://biblehub.com/greek/1342.htm

I was reminded of a verse by one of our Facebook followers, Jeff, who posted the Scripture found in 2 Peter 2, speaking of false teachers and false prophets:

2 Peter 2:1-3 (BSB)

Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies that even deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow in their depravity, and because of them the way of the truth will be defamed. In their greed, these false teachers will exploit you with tales they have concocted. The longstanding verdict against them remains in force, and their destruction does not sleep.

(emphasis added)

The phrase “will exploit” is a phrase that means “make merchandise of.” To study this, see: http://biblehub.com/text/2_peter/2-3.htm.

Don’t allow charlatans and false prophets and false teachers exploit you and “make merchandise” of you, selling you their “prayers” and so-called “effective and more powerful prayer techniques and art forms” that they teach you to “construct.” They are making money off of your desperation and fears, and some of them are even engaging in witchcraft, as is the case with the “ministry” who’s advertisement Carolyn received.

Read our book to learn how they are engaged in witchcraft.

Jesus Christ Himself taught us the correct way to pray!!!! Study the Word of God for yourself and find out what He has said! Why do you need to pay someone to teach you how to pray?

We wrote about this in our book in the chapter titled, “How to Pray.” You can read it at: https://askcarolynandloren.wordpress.com/…/section-f…/vii-how-to-pray/.

  1. I grew up in a Missionary Baptist Church in Tennessee. I was taught that we come to Jesus as a child would. Simple and beautiful. It breaks my heart that there are people who have been led to believe that they have to prove themselves worthy to any mere human and jump through these hurdles.

God bless you for calling these charlatans out for what they are. When it comes to prayer, the heart speaks the volumes that words can’t express.

  2. Sad. I hope those poor souls who are still “trapped” in BM have their eyes opened…

God bless each of you and your families and I pray in agreement with you both that those at BM have their eyes and ears opened to the Truth…for the time is short!

    1. Thank you for praying in agreement, Anita! I have faith that those who belong to the Father will hear His voice and obey His Spirit! It’s all according to His timing.

By the way… although I agree with your assessment, I edited your comment to take out the name of the individual you mentioned. I don’t want survivors and victims of Duval’s BM named, even if they are still involved with him. It’s up to them to name themselves. And I pray that with time and healing, and as God opens their eyes to the deception and to the absolute delusion they are living under, as well as the witchcraft they are operating out of (especially in the case of the individual that you named, as I well know from personal experience with them, both in the natural and in the astral!), that they will do just that. I hope you understand. ❤

    1. You’re right! It’s scary just how mainstream “christian witchcraft” is becoming! Satan’s plan of infiltrating Christian churches and groups has worked very well, especially over the past decades, and we’re starting to see the rotten fruit of those labors more and more.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Blessings! ❤

  3. Satan is a ravenous wolf seeking to devour but he knows how to sound and look so good. He knows exactly what to appeal to. There are many of these cults (and make no mistake this falls well within the definition). I spent 10 years in one, not quite fully in but yet in enough to be held hostage to the deceitful doctrine of perfectionism and Christian mysticism. It wasn’t until I was fully free that I could see just how evil it was and, for that matter, still is. So many others are so completely invested, I have to wonder, are they now blinded lest they see?

    1. So true! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Sometimes I feel helpless and frustrated when I realize that so many are blind to the truth and have fallen into delusion. Then I remember that I’m not the Holy Spirit of God. 🙂 I can’t make people see. All I can do is what my Heavenly Father has called me to do. First, to make sure my own salvation as I follow Jesus Christ and submit to the will of the Father, because how can I share the truth with others if I’m in delusion and in rebellion myself? And second, to share the truth as He leads and enables me to, praying for others as His Spirit leads.

Thanks again for sharing, and praise to the Father that He set you free and opened your eyes!

      Blessings! ❤

  4. I really appreciate your teachings and discussions. The truth of God and His word is so simple. I was being deceived and always felt inadequate in how to pray. Thank you for showing me the deception of what I was listening to and the truth of total dependence on our Lord and His protection for us.

    1. Yes! It’s so true what you say about the truth of God and His Word, and it’s what I’ve found out as well: God simplifies, but Satan complicates. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Pamela. 🙂

      Blessings! ❤
